INSTRUCTIONS

TASK

For this final project, we were instructed to create an animated infographics as a group regarding the topic about burnout. Before starting on the animatic, we had to write our personal experience on having burnout and do some research

Personal Experience with Burnout
Burnout is very common among university students, especially art students because often times, we over exert our capacity for our creativity and imagination to produce the art we deem acceptable. This could often be a hindrance from completing our art, thus making us procrastinate and unmotivated to complete the task at hand.

There is no doubt that I did experience burnout since the start of the first semester. When I first arrived at university, I was extremely taken aback by the different work ethic that I got accustomed to during my high school days. Not only that, it was my first time living alone knowing that I could not seek my parents' physical presence and guidance which added to the stress of university life. Those factors all contributed to the feeling of being overwhelmed thus resulting in a burnout.

Upon the research and information relevant to burnout, we broke down the script and divided the scenes and each of us were assigned to 2-3 scenes to animate. Visual ideas were added for each of the scenes to have a rough idea of what the scene would look like.

After being assigned to our respective scripts and parts, we worked on our animatic drafts. I drew scenes of my draft in ibis paint and aligned it with the audio on after effects.

Before starting on our animatic, we wanted to keep it consistent thus we created a moodboard consisting of the fonts, colour palettes and character design.

Based on the moodboard, me and Denise sketched and vectorized the characters and other visual elements for the group to use for the animatic.

I then vectorized additional assets I needed for my first scene as well as my second scene.

I then worked on the animations in After Effects. The background was created by using the turbulent noise effect on a solid fill layer. Since we wanted to achieve a paper-cut look for the animation, we decided o add drop shadow effects on some of the elements. For the animation of the characters and the assets, I used position keyframes, scale keyframes, opacity and rotation keyframes.

All our individual parts were then compiled and stitched together.
