❥INSTRUCTIONS
❥TASK
For this task, we were instructed to create and animate another 4
animations based on the template given for the basic principles of
form and design so we are to work on symmetry, focus, rhythm and
scale.
A. SYMMETRY
The first principle I worked on is symmetry, and decided to use a square
and 2 circles. For the square, I mainly used scale and rotation
keyframes and for the circle, I used rotation, position and scale
keyframes and ease eased the rotation keyframes.
For focus, I wanted to make a focus effect but just using circles and
explored scale keyframes as well as other animations I could do with
the circle shape.
I added a bunch of circles being enlarged out of the screen using
scale keyframes, then duplicated it and adjusted the timing of the
layers. Then, to make the focus effect, I made a circle only with the
stroke of it and added the trim paths effect and adjusted the start
and the end keyframes from 0 to 100. For the circle pops, I created 2
eclipses in one shape layer then adjusted the scale keyframes for both
of them from 0 to 100% then added merge path to have that effect of
the circle fading out at the end. I added another circle with dotted
strokes rotating as well to add variation.
C. RHYTHM
I duplicated the circle burst effects and adjusted the sizes for each of
the shapes, making sure the most inner circle is smaller than the ones
surrounding it then I tweaked their shapes for them to be an oval. so it
looks like ripples on the a flat surface. I wanted to make it look like
there are water droplets dropping on beat in a consistent pattern so for
the droplets, I added circle shapes with position keyframes as well as
opacity keyframes then duplicated the circles and adjusted the timing as
well as the size of them to add depth meaning the furthest ripple from
the screen is the smallest.
D. SCALE
First I added a circle in the center of the composition and added 6
smaller circles surrounding it. I then added position keyframes and
tweaked the anchor points for them to curve into the circle in the
middle and added scale keyframes for the circle in the middle and
adjusted them so that when all the smaller circles go to the center of
the circle, the size of the circle increases. On top of all the layers,
I added an adjustment layer with gaussian blur of 30 and simple choker
of 50 to get that liquid slimy effect to enhance the animation.

❥FEEDBACK
❥REFLECTION
I found this project pretty fun to do especially focus which was my favourite to work on though it was pretty time consuming to animate all of them one by one as well as the process of executing ideas.
