Design Exploration — Task 1 : Proposal


INSTRUCTIONS 



TASK 

For the first week of this module, we were told to compile some ideas that we wanted to come up with and the direction we wanted to focus on. For mine, I wanted to take this opportunity to go towards entertainment design but with a pinch of animation to enhance my portfolio.


I decided to go for the first idea related with fears since sir also did say that its the most prominent idea that has both entertainment design an animation deliverables in the project. 

After presenting my proposal, I decided to further develop the character designing and the details of the characters and sketch some out from different angles so I have a rough visual to proceed onto the process of the 3D modeling and sculpting.

For the 3D modeling, I started off with the first character being Hollo. I got the chibi model from an online website and started tweaking and making adjustments to the body according to how I want my character to be.

REFLECTION 

At first I was really confused with what to do with my design exploration and halfway through the semester I had a dillema to come up with a completely new project due to having other ideas but decided to keep going with this one. The process of sculpting was pretty fun and new to me, but working with blender on a Mac wasn't always the best experience for me as it had crashed and the file got corrupted but I managed to pull through by modeling and sculpting from scratch again in a short amount of time and came up with better results for the second attempt.
