Task 1 — Empathy Map & Problem Statement
❥INSTRUCTIONS
❥TASK
WEEK 1
On the first week, we had the MIB and the project brief all
introduced to us as well as the projects and the clients that we were
going to work with were all introduced to us. We were also introduced
to the project timeline. Proceeding onto the project, we were told to
make our groups and I grouped up with Ben, Agnes, Joan, Sim and
Vincent and we were told that we were working with the group called
FOLD which is the group that made pocketable 2-in-1 tissues.

WEEK 2
After deciding on our groups, we met up with our client and decided
to have a meeting with them offline on campus. During that meeting we
addressed some confusions and concerns according to the project brief
as well as discussed crucial information such as target group
audience, what type of feel they would want to go for the packaging of
the product or any specific elements they would want us to focus on or
include in the design, etc.

Once we distributed the questionnaire, we waited for a few days to
collect a certain amount of respondents then me and Agnes conducted
the analysis.

WEEK 3
On week 3, we did the presentation for our first task which included
contextual and primary research, empathy map, personas, problem
statement, and project plan. After the presentation was done, we were
told to proceed to the next step which is :
Rough List of deliverables for nx week :
- moodboard (including colour palettes, examples, range of fonts,
illustrations, visuals, inspo)
- character sketches (showing personality and also various sketches
and diff designs of the character)
- sketched out storyboard for ex promo video introducing the
brand
- website (potential wireframe)
- logo (inspo, sketches)
❥REFLECTION
The first task was overall pretty fun and very similar to
what we did in Minor Project which is why Im glad I took that
module beforehand as I have experience in making an empathy
map, user journey, etc since we had to do the exact same
things for Minor Project. Meeting up with the clients, we
didn't always see eye to eye but it really taught me how to
really communicate our ideas and designs to non-design
students which was a tedious process but it was pretty
interesting hearing their responses and thoughts towards our
suggestions and designs. It also really opened a new perspective for me to see things from a non
designer's perspective in order to communicate with
them.
